Apex FTW!

This is exactly what I was looking for in a roller. Lightweight, bombproof and integrates with the Apex Briefcase and 30L. . . TOPO has knocked it out of the park with this system which is now my go to for travel

Concerns

I will reserve final judgement until I actually travel with the bag but have concerns. 1) the gate clips are hard to use and take good finger strength. Not for anyone with arthritis. 2)the top carry handle is a thin piece of fabric. Likely durable but uncomfortable to lift by that handle when there's weight in the bag. you cannot fully open the bag when the auxiliary bag strap is in use (and it is secured with a gate clip). 4) the tuck-in zipper system is ok for security but requires real finger strength and dexterity. That said, the bag and wheels are sturdy and interior spaces well organized. Perhaps a bag for younger travelers but not for older hands. Read Less

ght it enough, this removes the need to also carry a personal item. I feel confident that this bag will last for a very long time and will keep my goods safe and dry.

Cons: The specs read that this bag is 44L, however, I do not feel that this is accurate. I consider myself a fairly efficient/light packer and I don't think I could fit more than a weeks worth of clothing in the bag. I also own a Patagonia Black Hole 40L bag that had enough space for a 2 week cold weather trip. However, the Patagonia 40L really lacks in the external pocket and organization category.

Conclusion: Get this bag as your perfect carry on companion for trips of 1 week or less. The water resistant design and external pockets will have you smiling from ear to ear. It may not work for trips longer than about a week or maybe I just need to refine my packing skills.

If overall volume and the ability to bring more clothing/gear is your intention, get the Patagonia Black Hole 40L.

If you travel light, value external storage/organization, and want a bag that will get you compliments throughout your journeys, get the Apex Global Travel Roller Bag.
